HONEY

Honey is composed mostly of carbohydrates such as simple sugars (glucose and fructose) as well as water (about 20%), minerals (calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, among others), organic acids (acetic acid, citric acid) as well as B vitamins, vitamin C, D and E. Honey also has a considerable content of antioxidants (flavonoids and phenolics).
Honey is an important supplement to human food due to not only its high energy value, but also the presence of substances beneficial to our body's balance, such as vitamins, minerals and amino acids.


Man has used honey since ancient times.
